2019 Kings Of Q BBQ Cook-Off And Festival

Kings Of Q

If you’re a fan of good-old-fashioned pit BBQ, then you’ll want to make plans to attend the 2019 Kings of Q BBQ Cook-Off and Festival in Ayden. This city-wide, two-day event treats hungry patrons to piles and piles of smokey, savory goodness from more than 30 of the best pitmasters this side of the Mississippi River.

The festival is named in honor of two well-known BBQ kings: Latham “Bum” Dennis and the late Pete Jones. Each of their families run a popular BBQ joint here in Ayden (Bum’s Restaurant and Skylight Inn, respectively) and are descendants of Skilton Dennis, who is said to have started the first commercial BBQ business in the United States.

The festival kicks off Friday, May 17 and runs through Saturday, May 18. Read on to get all the details about participants, activities, and more!
