Add These Activities To Your Spring Bucket List

Family walking to the beach togetherSaturday, March 20th was the first day of spring, so it’s time to start planning exciting outdoor activities for the family! During the winter season, a lot of your time was spent indoors, cuddled up with a blanket by the fire, waiting for spring to arrive. With countless days full of warm climates and sunshine ahead, there has never been a better time to plan full days of fun. You’ll want to add these five activities to your calendar, so let’s check them out.

Be Beach Bums

There’s never been a more perfect time to visit the beach. While beach fanatics may say their favorite time to catch some waves is in the heat of June or July, we beg to differ. Beat the summer crowds and plan a springtime beach trip. The weather is slightly cooler, allowing you to submerge your body in the sand all day long. Grab some chairs, a few beach games, and a cooler packed with lunch, and spend the day outside with your family.

Vacation to Your Backyard

Although some may not be able to travel, that doesn’t mean you can’t crank up the heat from your backyard. With a few home improvements, like an above-ground pool, some lounge chairs, and an umbrella or two, your home will feel like a spring oasis in no time. On the other hand, if you want to keep everything simple, your sprinkler and a plastic tarp make one heck of a slip and slide. With these few backyard additions, your house will be your kid’s new favorite staycation spot.

Eat Around the Town

Who isn’t a fan of the Food Network channel? Traveling from city to city, it’s exhilarating to try each location’s hottest, most delicious eats. If you are a family full of foodies, research your town’s most hidden gems of mom-and-pop restaurants. Plan a full course meal, starting with a location for appetizers, another for entrees, and of course your final location for an impeccable dessert.

Give Back

Nothing is more fulfilling than doing some volunteer work as a family. Find a need in your community, whether it is helping an elderly neighbor with their yard, volunteering at the soup kitchen, or walking some lonely pups. Implementing these qualities into family values at a young age will carry on for generations and generations.

Pick Up Baseball

Calling all sports fans — baseball season started in March, but it’s not too late to get excited. Throw some hot dogs on the grill, put on your favorite jersey, and create a stadium experience from the comfort of your home. Although, if you’re looking for an adventure, states like Florida and Arizona host major league teams from all over.
