Ingredients for Smoky Pork Sliders
You might be surprised by all the ingredients it takes to make these sliders. Don’t leave anything out, though, since the ingredients come together to create a phenomenal flavor profile. Thus, gather:
- Small buns
- 1 onion, chopped
- Salt and pepper
- 3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons of smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon of cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
- 6 tablespoons of tomato ketchup
- 1 pound of unsmoked back bacon
- 1 shallot, chopped
- 5 pounds of minced pork
- Smoked cheddar cheese, sliced
- 1 head of baby gem lettuce
- 1 tomato, sliced
Making the Barbecue Sauce
After gathering your ingredients, it’ll be time to make the barbecue sauce. Heat a pan and add the onion, garlic, and olive oil. Then season the ingredients with salt and pepper.
Next, mix a tablespoon of brown sugar in, followed by the smoked paprika. Pour in the cider vinegar next and stir until the liquid is reduced.
You’ll add the ketchup and Worcestershire sauce next. Then let it cook for two or three minutes, taking it off the burner when the sauce reaches the desired consistency. Then give it a taste and add more salt and pepper if needed.

Making the Sliders
Once the sauce is ready, you can move on to the sliders. Start by frying the bacon in olive oil. Then add the shallot to the pan and continue cooking. Once the bacon is tender and crisp, add some paprika for seasoning. Then cook it for another minute before transferring it to a paper towel.
Next, add salt and pepper to the minced pork before putting it in a bowl and mixing it with the shallot and bacon. After that, use your hands to turn the mixture into small balls. You’ll then want to flatten them so they’re around an inch in thickness.
Then put a large pan with olive oil on the stove and heat it. Put the sliders in the pan and cook each side for two to three minutes. Once they’re done, turn off the burner and top each burger with smoked cheddar cheese. Let the heat melt the cheese a bit before taking the sliders out of the pan.
Finally, put the burgers on the buns, followed by the barbecue sauce, a tomato slice, and lettuce. Once it’s all together, you can dig into the delicious meal.
